A nice little sketch that suffers from a lack of attention to the face, otherwise I'm pretty happy with this one.

Not on my "A" game with these drawings. If you stick around and follow this week you'll see that my proportions were not always there and I just wasn't focused enough to make the adjustments as needed. With this sketch it was the thumb under the chin that caused problems. I tried to fix it once but I don't think it was successful.

Of one of my favorite poses. Amber closed this one up a bit which drew my attention to the arms more than the legs this time. With only five minutes to draw I had to make the determination of where the area of interest lay and I felt the torso with the tension of the shoulders was where I should focus my time.
A quick 5 minute pose. The tricky part of drawing Amber are her proportions. Being as thin and fit as she is presents problems that make you have to take a harder look at what one is drawing. Every plane and shape becomes very prominent, as evidenced by the drawing above. When Erin modeled for us we had the same challenges. Makes it a lot of fun for the artists, that's for sure.
I had fun with this one. At ten minutes it gave me time to work out a lot of the folded material and other elements, not just the figure. Speaking of the figure, the serpentine flow of Sara's body in this pose really gives this drawing good movement, starting with the turn of the head all the way through the mid section and out through the legs. Very nice pose.
With her long and lean figure Amber presents some interesting challenges when it comes to drawing. You have to find the points where the shapes and masses meet and exaggerate them a bit to give the sketch more dimension. I started to push the highlights and the shadows on the leg to get to just that point.
