Now, onto the drawings

This was the last drawing of the evening.  Gotta tell you, I have immense respect for Richard Schmidt and his working with a bad back.  It really is distracting and by the end of the evening it was quite distracting and is reflected in this drawing.  And this was better than some.

Gestures of Amber

Great night last night.  Good turnout and Amber did her usual wonderful job.  These are the gesture sketches from the session.

Oddly... odd

Sometimes you feel like a nut...  and then you just act on it.  This is a result of not really concentrating on the model and becoming enamored with the surface of the paper and the way the charcoal is interacting with it.  Some may say that's art, I say I was just undisciplined.

The sculpter returns

I really enjoyed making this drawing.  Jeff has a terrific head from which to sketch and paint.

A missed week

These are the gestures of Sara from a couple of weeks ago.  I was unable to attend last night's session so I will be putting up various unposted drawings.

Really got into this. Not sure it's an accurate portrait but I enjoyed making the image.

My favorite of the night

I really had a good time drawing Britain's face. I don't think there was much more I wanted to do with this one.

One of the better ones

When our model said hat this looked like her I was pretty pleased. Getting likenesses, especially in a short time period, is tricky and frustrating.

On to the drawings

A bit linear but I like the end result. I used a different paper, kind of a white craft product. Eh, not my favorite material to use. I switched back to newsprint later in the session.

Our new model, Britain, really did a great job. We'll get to the drawings tomorrow, in the meantime here are the gestures.
