Ashley returned and we got some good poses from the session.

Classic pose

Simple is often the best decision.

Not really.  Just the way her head squishes down on her forearm.  Fun to draw.

The most fun pose of the night.  So much to draw... so little time.

Another week with Cally

The gestures.  She does such a great job with the gestures.

Okay, pretentious title but, hey, you come up with new titles every day.  At least I like the drawing.

I enjoyed this drawing very much.  Simple features that really seem to convey the model.

Incomplete

So many angles with some great mass to work with.  Another 15 would've done this drawing a world of good.

Gettin' started

I always find it a challenge to get started with a new model.  I don't know about the rest of the artists out there but I seems to have to get past the individuality of the person on the stage and get to the generalities of seeing shapes and mass.

A new model

We welcome Cally to our little group.  She really gave us some great gesture poses, very dynamic.  I'm looking forward to getting some great drawings of her in the future.

Best of an off night

I just wasn't really on last Thursday but this one had potential.

Simple is as simple does.  Not much else to say here.

Lost opportunity

So much going on in this pose that I simply ran out of time.  As you can see I was having a rough time with the left arm, positioning it a couple of different times.  I also was quite heavy handed with most of my drawings, at least it felt that way.

Not a particularly good evening for good drawings

Don't know why I feel back the other night but I struggled.  I'll post the better ones, such as they are, this week.

Gestures of Ashley

A small group but that didn't stop Ashley from doing her usual great job.

Fave

I got lost in this one.  Would love for this to have gone longer than ten minutes.  I really enjoyed just working my way around all of the aspects of this drawing, having so much fun with this.

A bit o' terra cotta

I always enjoy using the conté crayon, be it noir or terra cotta.  Just a torso study.

Tyson's noggin

Ever since seeing the Fechin exhibit I have become more aware of the quality of the line and, for now, that seems to be a good thing.

Lines, lines everywhere a line

What to say?  It's linear.  A good way to start the evening, getting a feel for the shapes and the way the masses interconnect.

My favorite of the night

Just a gentle little sketch.  Really enjoyed doing this and kept Fechin in mind so I wouldn't get too carried away and heavy.
