As usual, my favorite for last

This one just worked for me.  Never sure why one works out and others don't.  This one just came together.

This was the last drawing of the evening and I obviously didn't get anywhere near to finishing it.  However, I really like where this was going and would like to revisit this pose at some point in the future.

Eyes Wide Open

I was having difficulty not drawing C's face all of the time.  She has great features that really entice the artist to capture her likeness.  Not sure if I caught her look well enough but I had to get it out of my system. 

Too much to draw in too short a time

I really wanted to get the feet done and reposition the head.  Alas, time was not on my side.

Let's skip the gestures

These are the first two poses from our newest model, C.  She had never modeled before last night and knocked it out of the park.  Not sure I did but I got a couple of sketches that are decent enough.

Big strokes and shadows

As usually happens with the last drawing of the evening I just get ham handed.  I actually spent a bit more time after the room cleared out to define some of this one yet it just didn't come together the way I had hoped.  It's okay as a sketch but that's about it.

Simple and elegant

I felt like leaving this one slightly under rendered as I really thought the lines told the story well enough.  It is a  beautiful pose that I hope to get another chance to draw.

Simple

I love the minimal aspect of this drawing.  Just a couple of strokes to indicate form and voila... I'm happy.

Confident repose

I enjoyed this quick little sketch of our model, especially her face.  Fun drawing.

Welcome, M

The gestures from last night's session, our introduction to our newest model, M.  She had never done this and knocked it out of the park.  Although it was a small group we sure got some great poses to sketch.

I truly hope I have a better night tomorrow.  These drawings are just uninspired.  Not sure where my head was but I'm going to blame it on lack of food.

We continue the not great set of drawings

But if I don't publicly humiliate myself then I won't feel compelled to do better.  So I am sharing my pain (although not the worst of them).

Solid, basic start.  Nothing else.  I didn't have the best of nights last week.  Maybe one or two worth noting. This ain't one of them.

Gestures

Probably some of my better work last night.  Yes, it's that unfortunate.  Well, maybe not as bad as all that but still not one of my better evenings of drawing.  I hope to salvage a couple of the sketches.

And, overall, the strongest drawing.  Lot's of nice darks and great shapes and pretty fun charcoal strokes.

Can't wait to complete this.  I was having a lot of fun until the clock struck 12.
