Took some time off to attend to some business.  Back to the poses of Lady J.

Gestures of Lady J

Lady J came to our rescue at the last minute and gave us some pretty nice poses.  Here are the gestures from the session.

Long pose

A lot started with a lot left to go.  I was having an absolute ball drawing this.  Great shapes and so many changes in the posture as it relates to her surroundings.  Wonderful pose.

That neck!

The light and the pose created such a great collection of shadows, masses and lines that I just couldn't help but focus entirely on her neck. I threw in the rest just so it wouldn't look so odd...

Back to black

Pretty harsh shadow running down her left side.  I was intrigued by the wonderful musculature on her right shoulder and then distracted by how sharp the shading was on her other side.  I may try to work that out better because it really was quite interesting.

Prep drawing

I deliberately took my time with this one as I plan to finish it.  Wanted to make sure the proportions were right rather than get as far as I could in the limited time I had.

Gestures of Miss D

We had fewer poses but I think a better session with Miss D last night.  Here are the gestures from the evening.

Favorite of the night

Very sketchy but I love the construction of the head and the expression she has.  I consider this finished.

Profile

My favorite part of this sketch is the mouth and nose.  Was real happy with how that turned out.

Basic upright

A standing pose.  Nothing special with this.  Pretty much just a start that seemed to go nowhere.  Perhaps I expect too much out of my drawings. 

Simple back

A very basic back pose to open this week.  A quick study that shows I was trying to knock of the rust of not having drawn in three weeks.

A little sleep deprived this week.  Still, I think a couple turned out decent.  Here is the gesture page, I decided to put all of them on one just to lose the precious nature I sometimes assign to sketches.

Against a wall

Quick little sketch with just enough information that I don't feel the need to mess with it.  I'm especially happy with the few lines to make her face.

Early Lady J

The model's thin frame creates some very interesting opportunities for understanding the relation of the skeletal structure to the musculature.  I have fun drawing Lady J.
