Gestures of the marvelous Lady B

Lady B flowed through these ten poses with a lot of energy and grace.  A lot of fun to draw.

Simply done

Early in the session.  Always bummed when the best piece of the night is one of the first drawings.  Makes me feel like I didn't accomplish what I wanted during the evening.  I attribute this to a great pose with really nice lighting.

More time and more of the figure.  Madame E really presents some wonderful opportunities for some great studies.

Gestures from a better night

So much better when your head is in the game,eh?  Madame E did a great job and I'm fairly happy with what I drew last night.  Not all of them but much improved from that disaster that I endured last Thursday.

Favorite of the night

Wish I had stayed in this frame of mind all evening.  Sure, the face is barely blocked in but I love the feel of this image.  Strong blocks of deep shadows and shapes give this some life, not just a mimic of life.

Fun but not typical

I was way off of my game last week and am not sure how I even got through the night.  This is okay but for a long pose it sure comes up short.

Limbs akimbo

Some deep shadows and some great angles.  Fun pose.

Still kinda gesture-y

But I like it and kinda wish I had kept this going for the session.  Alas, t'was not so.

A mess o' gestures

Wow, this is just a mess... even for gestures.  I blame Angry Hank's "Dirt" stout for this and the subsequent drawings that I'll be posting from this session.  Just a warning, folks.

This was fun using the side of a very soft charcoal stick and getting some big sweeps of tone.

Madame E doesn't much care for the "oldies" we play.  Hmmm, The Eagles, Three Dog Night or Dr. Hook?  Oldies?  I am, uh,... huh, I forgot what I was gonna say.

Lines, lines, everywhere a line

Really liked this one.  The model was so thin that the poses she took gave me so many unique opportunities, almost like Egon Schiele might have fun with.
