This works... and it doesn't

So much I like about this but something just doesn't sit right with me.  Still, I like it for the most part.

Sketch to semi finish

I liked the initial sketch and wanted a record of it in case I really screwed it up.  Lack of a face is what's missing at this point.

Three week layoff really shows...

Just thought I'd throw a slew of sketches up and see what sticks.  I like each one for various reasons and can find problems in all of them.  Yet there is something that draws me to every one of them.

A more finished head and some lost edges would have made this a lot stronger.  Still, all in all, I like this on very much.

Another from '16.  Elegant shape that could have benefited from a more finished (or more unfinished) hand.

One of my faves...

 with one of my all time favorite models.  This was such a surprise when Lady B took this great tension pose.  I'm not even upset that it is in a state of unfinish.

My favorite from the session

 A nice touch to the technique (if I do say so myself) and I really love where this was going.  As with most of the sketches from the Black Hand sessions a bit more (or a lot more) time would have been useful.
