At rest

No model last night so I'll post some stuff that's just lyin' 'round.

Long pose

Last pose of the session and one I finally got my artistic teeth into.  Had a lot of fun with her face on this.

Head study

And a start to the body, as well.

Midriff

Nice shapes to draw.  This was a fun session with longer poses and a chance to get into the poses a bit more than usual.  I may push this more and just get fewer drawings in.

Miss M takes a seat

A small group last night led to a change of procedure.  Longer poses led to fewer drawings.  I liked it.

A bit of hip

Simple shapes and gentle shading make this my favorite of the session.

Seated

I really like the simplicity of this and the limited linework.  Plus it's just so much fun drawing knees.

Getting a sense of the model

It always takes me a bit of time to get in tune with the model.  It shouldn't be that way as I should just be able to treat them as a mannequin rather than as a person but then it would almost, to me, be not much different than drawing a house.  I need the unique aspects of the people who sit for me.

A little stylized

Lady J presents some very interesting challenges.  This was fun to draw.

Just building shapes

I had fun with this one.  Last pose of the evening and my favorite.  It was nice to stay away from too much detail and just play with the masses.
