Poor posture...

but it makes for a lot of fun to draw.  So many shapes connecting to one another creating some great opportunities to render mass.  Of course, I could have used a bit more time to smooth out some of the rough patches but still, I like this one.

Seated Contemplation

I was starting to get into this but just ran out of time.  That's alright, though, as I've come to leave my sense of preciousness behind when it comes to my drawings.

Study in terra cotta

Just a little head study in conté.  Our long serving time keeper brought in a flower as a prop and Lady J made it work.

Gestures of Lady J

Another light group last night and a late start to boot.  Hence only five one minute sketches.

From the top down

The last pose of the session and the longest.  I always like this point of view.  It seems a bit more natural than finding the angle that gives us the whole figure just for the sake of the whole figure.  I struggled with the hand on this one and would like to have another shot at it.  I did like my decision to remove some of the line work around the hip and shoulder to give it a sort of glow.

Restrained

Kinda got keyed into the triceps a bit.  A nice study, though.

Some strong marks

Some heavy black strokes balanced by some nice lost edges.  Simple sketch but I find it effective.
