Torso

Reclined and relaxed.  Best poses to draw since the model usually doesn't move a whole lot.  Last sketch for the night and not a lot of time so I focused on her knee and drew from there.

Wasted opportunity

I switched paper for this drawing and I didn't adjust very well.  Nice sway to the back intrigued me and I just couldn't pull it off.  It happens.

Gestures of Ashley

Small group last night but a good session.  After my trip to see Fechin in Seattle I seem to have gotten refocused with my drawings.  The last few drawings of the night were my best in some time.  We'll get to those later.

That 'stache!!!

Just no way around that unique moustache.  Oh well, just roll with it.

I really liked the way the right hand was posed and tried to get the left done in time.  Not quite, apparently.

Michael.  He did a great job although, as anyone following this blog will find out, he sports a great mustache that seemed to dominate any drawing I did.  I actually had to draw a couple without a head just so I wouldn't be tempted to draw just that intriguing mass of facial hair.

A little drawing last night

This piece (in progress) is a donation for a local charity.  I put it off for quite some time but after viewing the Fechin exhibit at the Frye Museum in Seattle last Friday I felt inspired to try this with some of the sensibilities I saw in a few of his gorgeous drawings.  Something to aspire to.  Hope you like this one. I'll post the finish later.

  Took a trip with my son to see the Fechin exhibit in Seattle (and to catch a game at Safeco) so I haven't updated in a couple of days. Since I missed our drawing session I have to go back into the archives.  There is a reason I haven't posted some of these.

Another head study

I really enjoyed drawing this one.  Nice way to end the night.

Just a noggin' study

First drawing of the night.  Some problems with proportion but I was mostly concerned with the model's face.  Riley has some interesting features that make it pretty easy to draw.
