Patiently waiting

 I bided my time with this one trying to get a basic figure blocked in and some of the finish I'll be looking for.  This is one of three sketches from the night that I intend to finish off.  Looking forward to working on this one.

I didn't have the best of sessions but I hope to go back in on a couple of these drawings.  Not the gestures but a couple of the others...

Long pose

 

I like this drawing from a technical standpoint, but it really doesn't do much else for me.  Fun to draw.

On

 This pose did the most for me and was the most disappointing in that I did not have, yep, enough time.

Repose

 

My photography on this set was abysmal.  I really need to reshoot these.  This one had potential.  Alas...

El takes a stand

 From a technique standpoint this is probably my favorite from the session.  Simple lines and simple shapes.  Just has a sense of confidence about it.  Blind squirrel and all that...

New shtuff

 Gestures of the one and only El.  She nailed the gesture poses.

Well... let's try 2018

 I had totally forgotten about this sketch.  Lotsa lost edges and a nice flow.  Pretty happy with the likeness.  I'll have to dig this one out of the pile and put it somewhere else that I can forget about...

Brianna from 2017

 I've always been fond of this particular sketch.  She's just floating on the page with just that drapery for support.

El in profile

 Another long pose in profile, very similar the the previous week.  I really had a tough time getting her likeness, especially her mouth.  I think I need to soften it all up a bit...  

No drawing group this week.  Summer schedule is gonna be a bit wonky in June.  Trying to go every other week.

Take a seat

 I like the vague treatment of this sketch.  Wish I had left a few lines out of this, especially her back.  I may experiment with this a bit.

El seated

 I think I had a bit of trouble with the proportions on this one, making her a bit short in the midsection.  Quick sketches often find themselves filled with mistakes.  So many decisions and so little time.  That's why we call it practice, I guess.

Finding El

 Starting with a smear of charcoal and then pulling some highlights out with a kneaded eraser and following that up with a charcoal pencil and some vine charcoal.  This was a quick sketch and mistakes were made.  However, a couple of areas intrigue me.

Gestures of El

 A couple of these gesture poses would have made really great long sketches.  One did.

Lady in Red

 Wondrous pose to work with.  Just the beautiful flow and the weight and shapes... loved working on this sketch.

Kinda got outta hand

 I got caught up in the left arm and kinda spun out from there.  There are some things I like 'bout it, tho...
