 What to say?  They're just gesture sketches.  Tune in Monday for (slightly) better stuff.

Terra cotta red

 Long pose that just wasn't that easy to work with.  Normally I enjoy the perspective drawings but I just wasn't having much luck with the conté.  I think I'm going to have to experiment with some papers and see if I can get better results with this medium.  Still, not hating the drawing just feeling that it could have (and should have) been better.

Lovin' that brown conté

 The conté lends itself so well to the shadows.  I had a ball drawing this even though it is fraught with mistakes.

Mr. M relaxes

 Fun little charcoal study.  Simple yet effective.

 Wish this had been more than a five minute pose, great shadows.

We had a great session with our newest model.  Sure appreciate all of the people who model for us, past and present.
 

Ahhhh, sepia conté

 45 minutes of pure drawing fun.  Wonderful pose with so many fabulous shapes to dig into.  This should have been a 2 hour pose.  Just a blast to draw!

Another 15 minute drawing...

 ...but I broke out  my new conté crayons.  I don't usually use the brown tone but it sure lent itself to this particular pose.  I think it would have been more fun if I used a better quality paper but such is life.

15 minute back study

 So much time spent loving the texture of the charcoal more than trying to get a finished drawing.  Would love to just build up the shadows and shapes in this.

10 minute figure study

 Channeling my inner Zin Lim.  This was fun.

Gestures of Lady S

 Lady S did her usual stellar job for us.  Too bad the group was so small but we had a pretty good session.  Changed it up a bit and did longer poses which resulted in fewer sketches.  But I think we may have done some better work.

 Took some time to get used to the extra musculature on a man vs. a woman.  This was a five minute sketch.
