Heavy strokes and dark shadows

This pose was all about the heavy shadow cast over her torso.  As I kept working this it just kept getting darker and more sculpted.  A fun exercise.

Madame E is doing a terrific job for us.  Just not enough time to really capture all that I want in a drawing.  Here are the gestures.

Last sketch of the evening, really enjoyed working on this.  Probably should have finished back of her head but that was not a priority.

White wristband

A lot of great planes to works with and so little time.  The lighting really brought out some interesting shadows, almost to the point of losing sight of the figure in place of having fun with abstract shapes.  Almost...

Exploration

Trying to get used to the new model and I started using larger strokes to get shapes rather than anything unique to her.  I like the result, fairly abstract and yet recognizable.

Welcome to Madame E.  Newbie who did a very nice job for us.  Looking forward to getting some great poses out of her that play to her strengths.

Long pose

We ended the night with this pose.  I really only started to get the finish going in the last couple of minutes.  Not sure what took me so long to just get to this stage but, well, I'm gettin' on in years.

Barely started

I could have gone on for quite some time with this one.  As it stands there are some very confusing shadows that give me fits when it comes to showing the turns of the figure.  Still, I like where it was going.

Needed stronger light to bring out better muscle tone.  A bit of a boring sketch.

Fun pose

Last drawing of the evening and I was just having a bit of fun.  Love the left arm and how it brings the eye into the left hip.

Finally...

...a finished face!  Actually I'm pretty happy with her likeness.  A fun little drawing, at least while I was drawing it.

Chair arm

Another faceless figure.  Really would like to have explored that strong cast shadow across her belly, giving it the multi layered look that would have described so much as it wrapped across that shape.

Fairly common for me, it seems.  Really liked the languid nature of the pose and I happy with how I captured it.

More Lady L

Grateful to have such a willing model to work with.  However, I'm getting a bit worn down by not having enough time to work actually do a drawing justice during the sessions.
