Another from the past

We only had this model for a brief time but she made for a great subject.  She had an incredibly interesting face that really brought out the Kent Williams side to me.  Would really have loved to have gotten more drawings from her but that's the way it goes.

Contemplation

Probably my favorite sketch for the session.  Appropriately the long drawing so I must've done something right, finally.

Wingspan

Was pretty happy with this one.  Jeff posed her and I think the tension really helped with the final(ish) drawing.  May need to develop the head a bit more.

Different paper

A lot more tooth with this paper.  I was happy with this drawing but the next one I tried did nothing for me.  Switched to yet another paper for the last few drawings.  They turned out pretty well for the most part.

Minimal

Just wanted to see if I could capture Lady B in a few lines.

Gestures from last evening.  Lady B really puts her all into her poses.  Can't thank her enough.

Languid

Nice texture to the skin in this one.  Some nice cast shadows as well.

Drapes and shadows

My favorite drawing from the last session.  I was having some real fun with this one.  The sharp nature of the folds in the sheet juxtaposing with the soft texture of the model's skin.

The Braid

I always enjoy it when Lady B wears her hair braided.

Brandy snifter

The model, the fantastic Lady B, decided to use a few props this session and chose a brandy snifter.  Really messed with the hand so I abandoned it (short pose) and got lost in the shadow between her right arm and torso.  Would love to have really explored the nuances presented there.

Week to week

The sketch we had Lady B recreate and the quick sketch from the week before.  I really wish we could have gotten the arch in the back again...

Just had trouble with this one

This was vexing for me with her face.  Just could seem to get it right.  I think I may have gotten fixated on some aspect of her features and just couldn't get it reconciled.  Happens.

Just want to say thank you to everyone who has followed this blog and who drops in for whatever reason.  This internet thing means I get to have "contact" with some very far flung lands.  Kinda cool.

Not many gestures

I grabbed the wrong case and didn't have my glasses so, rather than have a frustrating evening of trying to see what I was doing, I ran home and grabbed them.  Hence I missed the first seven poses of the night which led directly to my first two sketches (not shown) being, ahem, not up to snuff.  Here are the gestures I did get to draw.
