Just a block in

 This one feels so rudimentary.  The limbs are just tubes with no finesse.  Hmmm, not sure why I went so simple with this one.

Lady B's back

 This one was going along swimmingly until I just couldn't leave the line alone on her left side.  What was I thinking?  Otherwise I think the pose was great.

Gestures of Lady B

 Gestures from a really solid night of poses.  Only six of us but sometimes a smaller group makes for a focused drawing session.

 This one nearly  got to where it was going.  Great pose but I didn't treat it with the respect it deserved.  Bad positioning on the page and not giving the face the attention it needed.  Oh, well, a good exercise.

Great Pose...

 ...not enough time.  The beautiful curve of this pose was just a ton of fun to work with.  I would have asked her to hold for another 5 or 10 minutes but the way we had the blocks set up she would eventually have slid off of the model stand.  What a shame.  This could have been a wonderful drawing.  Alas...

Not getting much further with and extra two minutes

You'd think five minutes would be enough to at least get her face blocked in.  Cripes, I'm gettin' old...

 Instead of ten one minute sketches we had a request for three minute poses so... three 3 minute sketches.

Best effort of the evening

 The 45 minute pose and I made the most of it.  I'm very happy with the face and the feel of space achieved  in this sketch.

Conté always seems to make things look better.  Especially terra rosa or sanguine.  Love working in the red tones.

Welcome back, Miss B

 It's been too long since Miss B was in our studio.  She did a great job (as always) and here are the gestures.  10 one minute poses that often frustrate the group because it would be great to have them last much longer.

Sensing a theme?  Just another day with El.  This was the long pose.  Not sure I am happy with this but feel I could make it work if I ever get back to it.

 El really went all out with her gestures.  She loves that walking stick when posing.  I ain't a fan for the short poses as it just takes too much time to place it correctly and it obscures the figure too much.

Another from a couple of weeks ago

 I used to be able to get more information down in five minutes.  Not sure what has happened in the intervening 40 years or so but it's kind of depressing.  So I present to you a rather tentative 5 minute sketch of El.

 I'm pretty happy with this.  I'm contemplating adding some barbed wire just to add some visual interest and give the eye a path that curves rather than just runs up and down. 

From a couple weeks ago

 Very unfinished little five minute sketch.  Not sure where this one would have gone but now I don't have to worry.  Some things just have no future.

 Back to my charcoal on canvas project.  This will come in at 28 x 41 when it is all said and done.  I spent as long as "City to City" by Gerry Rafferty took to play on my turntable.  Ah, 'Baker Street'...
