The gestures of Miss A

A couple of our model's gesture poses would really have been spectacular to draw longer.

Study

I chose to focus on the model's midsection as the belly created a great shape with the rib cage.  The sweep on the other side of her body where the ribs draw the eye back to the belly.  Really loved working on this one.

Arch

Lot's of movement in this one.  Love the arch of the back and how the torso sweeps into her legs.

Just liked the head

I was very happy that I was able to get her mouth right.  Once that happened the rest of her features fell easily into place.  Lady J has a very specific type of mouth, I always think of Carly Simon, and if I don't get it right the whole drawing falls apart for me.

Elbows and knees

It's a lot of fun to disassociate myself from the model and see only abstract shapes.  Even though she sat still and formed a static shape there seems to be lots of movements in the leg, hip and her neck.  Fun pose to draw.

This is the most sensitive drawing I did last week.  I really am happy with this and the light touch that was employed.
