The gestures of Lady S, the September 14th edition

 We had only 5 one minute poses last night but I really like how these came out.  S does a wonderful job for us and it's nice when I can actually make her work for us work well on paper.

Long pose in conté

 I think I need to find a better paper to work with the conté better.  I like the texture when I lay it down initially but when I blend it I'm not as happy.  Perhaps a paper stock with more tooth or cotton content will make me happier.  I must investigate further.

A little noggin study

 I took some artistic liberties with the likeness.  I had some fun pushing certain features that probably didn't actually exist.  So sue me.

Cast shadows

 I tried to do this with only vine charcoal but I think I fudged a bit at the end.  Still, fun shapes to work with and push.

Basic focal point... the elbow?

 The left forearm was the most fun aspect for me to draw.  It was something about the way I could create mass with just a few lines and some simple modeling.

Long pose, just not the best sketch

 I should have left the face alone about two erasures ago.  I like a lot about this but I just couldn't get her likeness to work to my satisfaction.  Too bad, some decent stuff in this drawing otherwise.
