The long(er) pose from last week

 45 minutes and I was adequately warmed up with the two half our sketches we had already done.  This was fun and satisfying to draw.

Shaking things up

 With a smaller group I tried something a bit different.  We threw out the gestures and the shorter poses.  Instead we had the model sit for 2 half hour drawings followed by our usual 45 minute pose.  I have to say it made for a satisfying evening of drawing.  This was the first and, as you can see, I was content with sticking to his face for the most part.

Sometimes simple is best

 Only about 10 minutes or so to do this one but with the big shapes and strong shadows it was my favorite of the evening.

Long pose with Lady S

 Just could not get her likeness down.  Very frustrating since I liked a lot of what is going on with the rest of the sketch.  Sometimes it just goes awry.

Sittin' purty

 Simple little sketch to emphasize the fun shadows we had going on.

Tummy study

I just felt like playing around with the flat edge of the charcoal.  Some smeary stuff, donchaknow...
