Color Sunday
The nude was done on one of our Sunday painting sessions a while back and the other was a study done while attending a Carolyn Anderson workshop. If you ever get a chance to take a class or two from her I would tell you to jump on it. The nude reflects my attempt at applying her methods without having her tell me what I am doing wrong.

Drawings from last night
Some sketches from the Black Hand Group life drawing session last night. I want to thank our model who has been a friend of ours for some time now and started posing for us about nine months ago. When her schedule permits she makes herself available to us and we are grateful. All of our models really understand what it is we are trying to accomplish with this group and have truly helped elevate our level of drawing and painting. I want all of them to know how much we appreciate their work for us.

Back to drawing tonight
After a week off the Black Hand Group returns to the YAM for another life session. I truly look forward to these evenings not just for the drawing but to see other artists work and enjoy the company of my peers. Of course, there's always Jake's afterward for a couple of Red Stripes and some down time. Cheers

Some more of the light stuff
The shark design is another screen print piece, but the Shrine Circus was old school. Dr. Martin's Dyes on photo stat paper for a wrap around coloring book cover. This was done as a small favor to the Shrine Hospital in Spokane, Washington. My son, Terry, had a lot of work done there and they have a no payment policy. This and the interior artwork was was done as a token of my gratitude. The recession has recently dealt the hospital a blow and they shut down. I can only hope that they will be able to open again as they help so many young families facing some very serious health issues. I will never be able to thank them enough.

Something different
For a lot of my career I have worked for various screen print companies as either their only artist or part of an art department. It allowed me to develop a range of styles and was my introduction to computers. (I'm not sure if that last part was a good thing or not but...). These are a couple of the designs I did for a local apparel company a few years ago.

Even Wookie's have mothers
A few more for this Mother's Day. Hope all the mothers out there are being appreciated for everything they've done for their families.
