'tis the season
So in the interests of preserving what few drawings I have left (since we may not be meeting for the entire month of November) I'm going to put up some drawings that I am doing for our store's annual Christmas push. Seems that the little charcoal sketches I did to fill frames we were selling became more popular than the frames and now it is expected when Christmas time arrives (the day, or more correctly, second that Halloween is over. Don't get me going on this subject...) that there are 20 or more Santa Claus drawings on display. I'll get started with this one. Enjoy.

Whoops
Took a small step backward with this one. Not sure where my head was. But this is a good one to show how I look for the elegant lines in the figure and, sometimes to my detriment, I fall in love with the line itself rather than how it works into the image. It would be like building a road and because I'm enamored with the way the road meanders through the countryside I just lose sight of what I'm actually trying to achieve. It happens to me far more than I would like.

Almost...
Not quite but almost got the head into this one. Not sure what I was thinking other than I always like the element of the hair dragging the eye out of the frame.

Back to torso studies
I jump back and forth all of the time between wanting to do a finished full figure to just being fascinated with a portion of the model and delving into all of the shapes contained therein.

Nice pose
Too bad I was so out of practice with this one. Loved the pose and would love to have had another 5 minutes. Good one to get started on.

Sorry for the delay
It's been so long that I let everything else get in front of the new images. Here is the first page of gestures. Since we aren't meeting this week I'm going to milk the ones I have.

A breather
Tonight I'm back with a live model so I'm not going to bore you with another old drawing. New stuff in the morning.

Just gotta get this outta the way
I really don't like this one but I force myself to put out even the ugly drawings. Hopefully it will make me a bit more aware when drawing and I'll create less and less of the undesirable little bastards.

New stuff is almost here
Always a solid model (no pun intended). This guy is very easy to draw with all of the well defined shapes and masses.

Just waitin' til Thursday
I'm getting a bit bored posting all of this old stuff. I'm almost afraid of how my drawings will turn out when I finally get back to it.

A newer old drawing
Really wish I had finished the face on this one. Otherwise I'm pretty pleased with the sketch, a nice pose with some very interesting twists.

Last Life Drawing I've done
It'll be a couple of weeks before I post anything new. I'm pretty happy with this one, threw in a little white chalk to make it "pop". I'll continue to post my old stuff until I get something new going. Perhaps I'll post some of the other work I'm currently doing. We'll see.

Back from Vegas...
I could take a long snooze just like Sara here seems to be enjoying. As to the upcoming images, well, there will be no sessions until October 20th so... yes, old stuff galore. Thanks for stopping by.

No posts for a few days
I won't be around my computer for a few, so check back towards the end of the week. Thanks for checking out my work, it means a lot to me.
Always was partial to this one
Terrible choice of paper is the only reason I have relegated this drawing to the flat files. Always like the flow of the figure and the lost edges in this drawing.
