Had fun with this one

This is from last night, a ten minute piece. We only had three artists so we got a lot of freedom. I really liked how the face turned out on this piece. I think I focused on being looser than usual when I have more time. This was an enjoyable evening.
I'm going to take a break for about a week, folks. I'll be back, hopefully recharged and with a bit of news.

Nice pose

Very simple and elegant pose. A new batch of drawings tonight.

Last sketch of the evening a couple of weeks ago. Twenty minutes makes a difference.

More time

Would have liked to have had another ten minutes for this pose. Lots of great shapes. The hands and feet would have added immensely to this one.

Not doing them in order

This drawing came later in the session after I had warmed up a bit. I like this one.

First drawing of the evening

I tend to get a bit more linear with Amber. Rather than finding large shapes and simplified masses I see a lot of detail in her musculature. This results in slightly more detailed drawings.

RIP to the dream

With the Packers loss yesterday a sadness has descended on my very soul. It was nice while it lasted. It was a great run, just not the ending I hoped for.

We did draw last night, with Amber as our model. However, I haven't gotten around to taking the photos of the sketches. This is from the previous session.

Back to work tonight. Looking forward to getting into a rhythm again.

Starting to get the hang of it

Closer to what I want out of the evening. Simple lines and large shapes. I wonder how the rest of the night turned out.

A little too simple

Not happy with the angular line work I used on this one. Not much else to say.

Again, the simplicity of the lines and shapes really appeals to me. I'll have to keep that in mind tonight.
