Monday nude

Lot's o' smudgin' on this one.  Fun to draw, probably should've kept this style all night.

Back to the gestures

Because... why not?  Been some time since I posted the one minute gesture drawings.

Some nice shapes to work with in this one.  I may have gone a bit too far with the face, it either wants to be finished or removed.  A bit more work on the hair might solve this problem.  However, I have way too many commitments at the moment to go back in.  Sigh

The final pose of the evening

This was coming together very well.  A few more minutes and I'll be happy with this one.  The pose offered some nice challenges with perspective and the masses laying on top of one another.  Fun sketch.

Incomplete

Otherwise known as "My Style".  Bits and pieces and studies within studies seems to be where I like to be in my life drawings.

All knees all the time

Sometimes I just like focusing on a small(ish) are of the figure.  Today, knees.  Regardless, I like the drawing.

Courage to the rescue

Some good poses from the lovely Courage.  She filled in when our scheduled model couldn't come in and she did a great job.

Oh yeah

This may not be a great portrait of Paige but I really am proud of the drawing.  The technique really intrigues me and I hope to replicate it more as the weeks progress.

Just a start

This has the makings of a good drawing and the one I intend to finish from this session.  Particularly happy with the start of her face.

Less vague

Getting closer to finishing.  Her left hand offered a challenge that took a bit of time.  It may not look like it but it needed a bit of observation.  Hands are tricky.

Vague

I'm quite happy with this one.  The vague technique works well even though this is far from finished.

Welcome back, Paige

We got Paige to return after a summer break in California.  Good to have her back with the group.  This drawing was a pretty nice one, until someone dripped water on it.  Too bad, I was looking forward to finishing a very few little things on this.

Just not right

There's a reason some of these sit in the "unposted" file.

Eve

Holding an apple while nude seems to be the universal symbol for Eve.  At least that's what the artist who asked for this pose thought.

Didn't attend The Black Hand Group last night as I was at an event to support The Moss Mansion.  Our daughter is the Executive Director so we like to help out when we can.  So this is an older sketch.

So close

This was my favorite sketch of the night.  The technique was clicking and I absolutely LOVED how her face was turning out.  Rather than rush it and screw up what I had I opted to just let it be.  This was a lot of fun for me.

Casual pose

Again with the face.  May just try to fake it and finish the right side of her head since I like the simple elegance of this sketch.

Relaxed

Dawn got comfortable for the last pose of the evening.  I had to purposely avoid drawing her face or I'd get nothing but her head done.

Here's hoping everyone is enjoying this extended weekend and is taking a break from the the weekly grind to be with family and friends.
