Cradle

Simple vignette.

Twist

I love these poses with the twist of the shoulders and the thrust of the hip being the points of reference.  A fun challenge, for sure.

All curled up

These kind of poses are problematic for me.  If I had gotten far enough along to include the legs I may have been happier.  I, however, got caught up in the face and changing it until it sat correctly behind her shoulder.

Heavy handed

No elegance to the style I employed here.  Not sure why but this just came out flat.

Here are the gestures from one of our favorite models, Paige.  She gave us some good poses last night and it was good to have her back.

Lots to like

The pose, the musculature, the shadows... a few more lost edges and I would have been a very happy camper with this drawing.  Ah, who am I kidding, I am a happy camper.

Sittin' pretty

Just had too much fun with that right leg.  I loved the way the muscles caught the extreme lighting. Could've drawn this pose for a much longer time.

At rest

Miss S has a lot of great shape relations to latch onto.  For those who know of this artist, she reminds me a bit of a Michael W. Kaluta drawing.

Hard edges and lost edges

Kinda got lost in the shadows with this one, losing a bit of the proportions in the process.  Matters not, I had fun.

Back to work (finally) last night.  Knocked some of the rust off and eventually got some okay work done.  Miss S is a great model with some wonderful shapes that just are a blast to draw.

Sometimes I really like a minimalist sketch.  A couple of nice lines in this one.

Just a nice little study in mass and shape relations.

Unfinished and I don't care.  I like it as is.  I have a penchant for isolated and focused drawings.  That and the fact that I didn't have the time to finish...

From memory

This was a sketch I did just to pass time until the other artists and the model showed up.  A bit skewed but I like it.  Happy New Year to all and I hope 2015 churns up some creative juices in everyone.
