Lady L's second stint with our little group.  Some good stuff was done last night by our small gathering.  Another new artist joined us, as well.

So here are two images.  Not sure why I forgot to post.  Gettin' old, I guess.

Pretty loose line work

Just kinda let it go with this one.  I like the freeform movement of the lines and the very basic placement of the shading.

Let's skip the gestures

I was all over the map stylewise last night.  I tried to be a bit more sensitive with my technique on this one but it didn't carry over to the rest of the drawings.

Knuckles

My favorite sketch of the night.  A lot of delicate lines and shading made this fun to work on.  This one just seemed to grow out of the paper, taking shape in pieces rather than filling in a larger space... if that makes sense.

Well, ain't that special

Nice pose with the hands on her hips.  Great musculature coupled with the scoop of her back.  Too bad this was a ten minute rather than a fifteen minute pose.  Would like to have gotten her head into this one.

Deep seated

Interesting pose with so much of the lower body being hidden by the seat.  I had a lot of fun drawing this one and would like to have finished off the right knee.  Alas...

Deep sway

Miss S has a great back with a deep sway that really accentuates the musculature.  Throwing the gesture line is a great pleasure because it is not an exaggeration at all.

Take a seat

Miss S has such great muscle tone that it is a real joy to draw full figure or just select areas.

A little conté sketch

I really enjoy using the terra cotta conté at times.  The head study is okay but was fun to draw.  The journey, not the destination, I guess.

Miss S reclines

One of the longer drawings and actually the last one of the evening.  Not sure why I struggled but struggle I did.  A nice, graceful pose yet I just felt pretty ham handed with it.

After spending the last couple of days hanging artwork at Gallery Interiors I was a bit spent and not looking forward to drawing.  Should've known better, the model gave us some great poses to work with and I came away feeling much better than when I arrived.  Here are the gestures from the session.

Another blast from the past

Sometimes it's good to have a backlog.  Sure, they're not usually the better drawings but they do show the ups and downs of trying to create art.

Chillin'

Odd little tangent with the right hand and the edge of the model's side.  Still, a nice pose.

The kneeling image looks like it could have become a nice image.  Hmmm, wonder what I could do with it...
