Loose and free

Boy, I was really getting into the rough handling of the charcoal on this one. Too bad I forgot about the face until the end. I really like the deep shadows, the weight of the figure and the loose handling of the medium. It seemed to open me up for the rest of the night.

The nose reminds me of Malcolm Liepke's art. Not a bad thing in my mind.

Looking back

I wanted to have a less defined back but am not sure I pulled off the look I was trying for. Her head drifted and caused me some grief but still...

Scratchings

I was feeling my way around this drawing and really got into the process. Not sure the end product is what I hoped for but I really liked the journey getting there.

Hmmm, maybe I spoke too soon

Actually, I think I like today's better than yesterday's. Lot's of nice dimension to this one. Yesterday's, today's and tomorrow's posts all had an extra five minutes to develop. Makes a difference, don't you think?
